Welcome to Into The North Woods! A journey back in time to days when human beings gathered their food from the world around them. Nah, not really! Mostly this blog will be a personal record of my attempts to learn about the foods that surround us. I love to cook. And I love to eat. But in our modern age of restaurants, grocery stores and delivery everything I ever want, I’ve become disconnected from the food that I stuff into my face each day. This blog is an attempt to chronical my adventures in learning where real food used to come from, and how to gather it like my ancestors did. It may also be an attempt to partially fulfil a long held fantasy of my own, that I would have been happier, and wildly successful human being, growing up as a pioneer when the West was being settled! Hope ya’ll enjoy the ride!
“Go afield with a good attitude, with respect for the forest and fields in which you walk. Immerse yourself in the outdoor experience. It will cleanse your soul and make you a better person.”
